Why VLC Media Player won't display video after idle?

Hello, first of all, thank you so much for VLC. I have used this program for ages and I just love it. However in the last month I've experienced a problem, when I pause the video and start a fullscreen program, such as a game for an example and go back to the movie 1-2 hours later I can't get the video to display, I can hear the sound and I can maximize the window but there wont be any video. Help me please and thanks!
